Songs Project

Chris Dingman’s Songs project unites four special musical voices with the purpose of bringing forth something sacred, honest, and transformative into the world. Powerfully fragile and emotionally moving, it is music from the heart. Dingman’s compositions create vivid experiences for listeners, worlds to live in and explore, with often metaphysical texts drawn from poetry – much of it by Rumi as translated by Coleman Barks – as well as original writings. The music is brought to life by vocalist Miriam Elhajli, bassist Ike Sturm, and percussionist Zaneta Sykes, along with Dingman on vibraphone. As a unit they operate with subtle warmth and captivating depth.
